Through an integrated, practical-applications approach, the department's programs will coninue to be nationally recognized as leaders in engineering technology education.

The Department of Engineering Technology maintains over 10,000 square feet of laboratory facilities including labs dedicated to automation and controls, computer design, computer integrated manufacturing, design and fabrication, dimensional metrology, electronic communication, electronic design, fluid power, industrial process and design, manufacturing processes and microprocessors.

Furthermore, the department maintains a strong working relationship with the Advanced Integrated Manufacturing (AIM) Center, and uses AIM Center facilities for laboratory courses each semester.

Faculty use instructional technology installed in many of the School of Engineering classrooms including PCs, interactive whiteboards, control panels and LCD projectors. The department recently completed design and construction of a new distance-learning classroom. The department also maintains its own computer network and servers, which provide communication for faculty and students on over 75 devices throughout the engineering technology labs.

All of the engineering technology programs — computer, electronic, industrial, manufacturing and mechanical —  are accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET, 111 Market Place, Suite 1050, Baltimore, MD 21202-4012, (410) 347-7700.
