Honor societies
Engineering honor societies at the University of Dayton encourage and recognize academic excellence. Admission is based on obtaining and maintaining a specified grade point average. Honor society students also offer tutoring services and sponsor speakers and seminars on engineering-related topics.

Professional organizations
Many engineering students join the student chapter of a professional engineering organization associated with their major. These organizations support and encourage academic research and advancement, represent engineers nationally and internationally, and expose students to engineering issues and policies. Student chapter members also have the opportunity to participate in competitions and awards programs recognizing their achievements. Students involved in a student chapter often join the national professional organization upon graduation.

Service clubs
Engineering students are encouraged to apply their skills and knowledge to help others through service opportunities. Many University-wide service organizations are available, as well.

Fraternities and sororities
There is a fraternity and sorority on campus specifically for engineering and engineering technology majors. These organizations are members of the campus the Greek system. They are actively involved in community service projects and philanthropies.
