The student chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) strives to promote the professional development of its members by its programs and by its relations with other student chapters and with the parent body, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. AIChE also contributes to the development of chemical engineering at the University of Dayton through activities involving faculty and all the classes of student members.
In order to achieve these goals, the student chapter of AIChE encourages participation in several different activities throughout the school year. AIChE organizes and helps to fund participation in the regional and national AIChE student conferences and competes in the Chem-E-Car competition held at the conferences. Other professional activities include guest speakers and plant tours throughout the school year.
Socially, AIChE promotes interaction between students of all classes and faculty through socials gatherings and an end-of-the-year semi-formal. The student chapter is a great way to learn more about chemical engineering and meet other students within the major.
