Undergraduates can opt to pursue a minor program of study to receive specialized training in an area complementing their major. Undergraduates in engineering can choose from 19 engineering minor programs. Undergraduates in engineering technology can choose from eight minor programs. When completed, the minor becomes part of the student's permanent record. Students pursuing a minor must choose a program at the beginning of their junior year. At least 12 semester hours are required for a minor, which can be completed in a student's third and fourth years.
